Faerie House Workshop

Faerie Houses  Hand Crafted Gifts From Nature.
Have you ever seen a fairy? Maybe you need a Faerie hideaway House.
A fairies home away from home. A tiny woodsie place where fairies would love to dwell, a mini home away from home when they come for a visit to you.
Hand crafted OOAK gifts. Made By Tess Ahlberg. I am a local Artist of Hampden, making these unique Faerie Houses in my studio at Indian Orchard Arts Mills. In the beginning of my life I was immersed into nature. I spent my whole childhood in the woods, meadows, marshes, swamps and beaches. Collecting natures treasures. My Faerie Houses are made from the harvesting of local woodland treasures. Right here in Western Massachusetts. I collect bits and pieces of wood, acorns, moss, pine cones, milkweed pods, lichens, and mushrooms. Wild flowers, ferns and other native foliage is gathered and then pressed. I attach the pressed flowers and leaves to the birch bark by painting mod podge on the bark. Then I hand paint the foliage. Moss is gathered and painted and carefully glued to the floors and eaves and door frames of the house. The Faerie Houses are floral decorations that can add whimsey and magic to your decor for display inside your home. They are fragile and will slowly decompose if you leave them outside in the elements.  The mushroom roofs are made of real cured mushrooms that I paint in vibrant colors. The houses are constructed from fallen birch trees that.I gather from dead trees in the forest.  No trees were harmed to make these houses. I also have Kits available that you can decorate your own miniature fairy house with all the supplies and directions included. The Faerie Houses stimulate the imagination and creative process in children. In offering these Mushroom Faerie houses and Kits I hope to instill in the heart and mind of our future generation an appreciation and preservation of our natural world.
